With a home nestled in the Highlands

and a product made with Scotland’s famous crystal-clear water, Glenmorangie takes their environmental responsibilities very seriously. But rather than simply doing the minimum required, they build on and pioneer best practice to minimize the environmental impact.

Dornoch Environmental Enhancement Project

Underlining the distillery’s commitment to a sustainable future, in 2014 Glenmorangie forged an ambitious partnership with Heriot-Watt University and the Marine Conservation Society known as the Dornoch Environmental Enhancement Project (DEEP). Its vision is to restore long-lost oyster reefs to the Firth and to enhance biodiversity.

Aquabio Wastewater Treatment Plant

In 2017, the Distillery began to treat its waste water using technology from Freudenberg. Thanks to Glenmorangie’s major environmental project, the Scottish coast will soon once again be home to established oyster reefs. The anaerobic digestion plant to purify the by-products created through the distillation process – an environmental first for a distillery.

Glenmorangie also works closely with their suppliers to minimize packaging and transportation waste and are constantly looking for new ways to make business more sustainable.
